Other editions

There are to my knowledge 4 other copies of The Ego and Its Own on the web, based on this original scan.

• The Egoism site (Dan Davis) - simplified to the original Tucker edition. Can be downloaded as text.
• The Memory Hole (Alan Koontz) - the Egoism site version tastefully broken into tables. Undoubtedly the most aesthetic of the versions available on the net. Also searchable. Slow loading though.
• The Anarchist Library - same as the Memory Hole version, but different colouring. Shelved in the company of anarchist thinkers by Daver.
• MS Word downloadable copy
• A PDF version of this site, provided by Bo Brandt.
• The Swedish translation - an excellent collaborative project.

If you are interested in a book that looks a bit better in your shelves than a print-out, I strongly recommend the Cambridge University press edition issued in January 1995 as part of their series on Political Thought. David Leopold has worked to improve Byington's original translation, and has written a quite decent introduction (though yours truly considers him to have misunderstood some central points in Stirner).
