I find the division into "the strong" and "the weak" sex - with the ensuing ideology of weakening the already declared weak sex - rather tasteless. I enjoy it when people consider themselves individuals - and act that out.
The picture here is a picture of Angela Bassett as Mace from the movie Strange Days. In this movie, Angela displayed the best integrated totality of strength I can say I have ever seen. Being a bodyguard, she had physical strength. She also displayed quick wits and intelligence in the situations they came into. But what struck me the most, was the her intensity - especially her emotional intensity. The scene where she tells of her love for Lenny (Ralph Fiennes) still grips me to tears. This is real strength to me - this integrated totality and intensity.
I have had this page for one and a half years now, and I am happy to see it being visited. The pointers are mostly pointers visitors to this page send to me. So you are the ones who really make this page. The guideline for useful URLs is pretty easy; if you feel they display strength in integrity, send them to me. If you feel they also display the emotional intensity I praised above, I add a "please".
This archive was created for the love and respect I have for strong women I know. It is also for the women who I may never know individually, but who it still warms me to know exist out there. This site is, in my strange and feeble ways, a tribute to you, and hopefully a warm encouragement to continue to be who you are in this world. Thank you.
